Looking for a school that teaches more than academics? How about one that teaches the Gospel with Christian values and disciplines? We offer a Christ-Centered Education from 3-year-old preschool through grade 8.
Our school is financed and operated through St. John Lutheran Church. We are part of the WELS (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod). We are a church body that believes that the Bible is the true Word of God, and we apply our lives according to the Word. St. John Lutheran School does not discriminate against race, color, national or ethnic origin.
Making disciples of Jesus Christ through the Word and a Christ-centered curriculum.
Our school's mission statement is centered around the word O-N-E. This stands for:
- Outreach - (to the community)
- Nurture - (the faith which begins at baptism)
- Equip - (to serve the Lord)
It is our goal that our children become "disciples" of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Our school has a fine reputation in the area school districts as many of our children go on to the area high schools after 8th grade. We also encourage our children to continue in a Christ-Centered Education during high school by attending Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm, MN. We update our curriculum yearly and are excited about our students' achievements. Nationally and locally our students test above the norm.
Along with our strong academics, we offer special help and guidance.
Title I Services
We have a monitor that spends time with students from grades K-4 who have some reading and/or math difficulties. Most of this work is done on the computer.
Other areas of strengths include a strong K-2 phonics program.
We offer the Linda Mood Bell reading program for those students needing a boost to successfully learn content by learning to read and comprehend efficiently.
Our math programs are very successful. In the grades 7-8, we will be offering 4 different math groups that meet our students' abilities with the top group taking the freshman class of Algebra 1.
K-2 classrooms offer their own music class and grades 3-8 are taught music by a licensed music teacher.
We also have a band program for grades 4-8. This is an exceptional group directed by a licensed choir director.
We have a special choral group called the Eternal Flame. Students from grades 5-8 may participate.
We offer a whole realm of athletics from basketball, volleyball, soccer, cross country, track, and softball. Some of these start in 4th grade. We play other Lutheran schools in the area and compete in a number of tournaments. Our children learn the value of good sportsmanship along with gaining knowledge and skills in these various sports. We have had much success here!
We also have a Little Lions program for 1st thru 3rd grades to play soccer and basketball.

Some might say the religious training.
We, at St. John School, care about the welfare of every individual student. We strive to make each student succeed. We try to instill in each student that he or she is a redeemed child of God and therefore special.
