Hello families! My name is MyKayla Jensen and I am teaching 2nd grade at St. John. It has been a blessings to get to know many of the families and especially the students.
My teaching career began with a call from Martin Luther College to Divine Savior Academy in Doral, Florida where I taught 2nd grade. From there I received a call to teach grades 3 and 4 at First Lutheran School in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The Lord then led me to accept the call here to St. John to teach 2nd grade. I'm very excited to learn, grow, and serve with the faculty, students, and families in Redwood Falls!
I've always been surrounded by teachers. Both my parents are school teachers, and my grandparents, and their parents, and it goes quite far back. It runs in my blood, but I was never pressured to go into teaching. Rather, my love for teaching started at home. I am the second oldest of six children, so there was always something to help teach at home. Growing up, I loved spending time with my mom in her classrooms. Helping her in her Pre-School classroom was a huge influence on my decision to study Early Childhood Education.
