I've always been surrounded by teachers. Both my parents are school teachers, and my grandparents, and their parents, and it goes quite far back. It runs in my blood, but I was never pressured to go into teaching. Rather, my love for teaching started at home. I am the second oldest of six children, so there was always something to help teach at home. Growing up, I loved spending time with my mom in her classrooms. Helping her in her Pre-School classroom was a huge influence on my decision to study Early Childhood Education.
After I graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, WI, I enrolled at Martin Luther College to study Early Childhood Education. While there, I met my husband and ran Cross Country. My husband's studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary caused us to move every few months. During that time, I was blessed to teach at several Early Childhood Centers. In May 2016, my husband graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, and he was assigned to be pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan, MN. God has blessed us with two children, Eleanor and Henry. We love seeing how God's plans are bigger than our ideas and thoughts. I am very excited to become a part of the St. John Lutheran School family!
