From the Principal’s Desk:
The Christmas tree is gone; the lights and decorations have been put away and as you look around there may not be many signs that Christmas ever took place, but I hope and pray that is not true. May the joy of the Christmas manger where our Savior from sin was born, be in your hearts always. As you may have sung during an Advent or Christmas worship service, “Go Tell It On the Mountain” let that be how you go into 2018, telling others about our Savior Jesus.
As it seems to always be, the students come back from Christmas break a little tired and worn out, but it doesn’t’ take long to get back into the swing of school and friendships. The month of January brings some extra opportunities for the students and the teachers. On January 3 several students were able to attend a Young Writers Conference at Southwest State in Marshall. It is an opportunity for students to grow in their ability and desire to become better writers.
Others throughout the year have the opportunity to partake in an Art Conference or a Science and Nature Conference in Marshall as well. Our St. John faculty will be attending a Language Arts Conference at Martin Luther College on January 15 to learn more about Writing, Grammar, and Spelling. It is always a pleasure to grow in our knowledge of the subject matter we teach every day.
On behalf of our faculty and staff, we want to wish each of you a Happy and Joyful 2018. Thank you for all your gifts and well wishes for the New Year. We consider it a privilege to serve at St. John. May the Lord continue to be with you and your families in the New Year.
